This is my take on a Strawberry Shortcake. I haven't found a person yet that didn't like it. Even my cranky 'ol father-in-law loved it!
Angel Food Cake in either bunt cake or bar form
1 lb fresh Strawberries
1/4 cup Sugar
Vanilla Ice Cream
1) Remove all of the green stems from the strawberries. In a blender, puree all of the strawberries. Add sugar then puree for 1 minute.
2) Cut the Angel Food Cake in to 1/2" to 1" squares
3) Put the cake squares at the bottom of a bowl, add ice cream, then top with strawberry sauce.
Optional: I like getting 2lbs of strawberries to use one for the sauce and the other to cut up and put on top. You can also add whipped cream and/or bananas.
